Co-author of the In-Sync Diet and founder of Ageless By Glynis, it’s fair to say that the former Eastenders actress knows a thing or two about health and beauty which is why she was a welcome addition to this year’s Natural Health International Beauty Awards judging panel. We managed to grab five minutes with Glynis to find out the secret to her youthful complexion. No fancy lotions and potions needed, just a simple lifestyle and a good dose of fresh air.
1. Exercise
There's no such thing as an anti-ageing pill but regular exercise is is the closest you'll get.
2. Protein
Eat plenty of good quality protein (especially alongside an exercise regime) to maintain and prevent muscle loss which easily happens with age. Lean muscle is important for strength, tone and metabolism as well as preventing weight gain.
3. Omega 3
Make sure you’re getting a good quota of omega 3s both from diet (oily fish) and a supplement (krill oil is an excellent choice). It's great for skin and brain health.
4. Vitamin C
Look for a skin products that contains a stable form of vitamin C. This does wonders for skin in terms of protection and repairing.
5. SPF
As every dermatologist will tell you, wearing an SPF all year round is vital to prevent skin damage and visible premature ageing. Look for a chemical-free moisturiser or foundation that contains a natural SPF. It will defeat the purpose if you are trying to protect your skin by applying damaging chemicals on a daily basis.
