Avoid ageing skin and wrinkles with a natural supplement
Once the sun comes out we are practically jumping for joy and desperate to head outside. Not only do the warm rays bring a smile, they stimulate the body’s production of vitamin D, which helps battle inflammation and high blood pressure while promoting better brain function.
But all the benefits can bring some big risks. It’s no secret that exposure to the sun’s ultraviolet rays can increase the chance of skin cancer. But did you know UVA rays actually age skin cells and may damage DNA in ways that may cause wrinkles?
As the weather warms and outside fun beckons, it’s critical to protect your skin – both inside and out. Sunscreen with an SPF rating of 30 or more? Check. Wide-brimmed hat and UV-protective sunglasses? Check. Glutathione? Check…wait, what?
* That’s right. Called nature’s ‘master antioxidant’, glutathione helps protect the skin from the inside out. It’s present in every cell of the human body, including skin cells, and combats oxidative stress and supports the body’s detoxification process. But the benefits don’t stop there.
A recent study showed Setria® Glutathione does more than just protect in ways you can’t see. Healthy female subjects took 250mg of Setria® Glutathione each day for 12 weeks. Their skin features, including melanin index and wrinkles, were then measured compared to participants taking a placebo.
Researchers found that melanin levels and ultraviolet spots tended to be lower in Setria® users than placebo subjects. The sun’s rays activate production of an enzyme called tyrosinase, which then produces melanin, a pigment that gives skin its colour. The more melanin, the darker the skin. But UV rays can cause hyperpigmentation, or dark spots on the skin. Glutathione, the study revealed, suppresses the activity of tyrosinase and hyperpigmentation, making skin brighter.
In addition to skin brightening, the study also showed that glutathione improves skin elasticity. As people age, collagen levels that promote taut skin start to wane. The result is sagging and wrinkles. Middle-aged women taking 250mg of Setria® Glutathione had fewer fine lines and wrinkles, according to researchers.
The good news is that the body produces its own glutathione stores. The bad news: keeping glutathione levels at optimal levels for skin brightening and elasticity is hard. Poor diet, ageing, pollution, and stress all reduce the body’s glutathione stores. One alternative is taking daily supplements made with Setria® Glutathione.
An excellent dietary supplement example is Regime London Illumination. Each capsule contains 250mg of Setria® Glutathione, the same amount used in the study. Illumination combines Setria® with aloe vera extract, copper, avocado extract, and cucumber powder to increase skin brightness, reduce dark spots and wrinkles. A 30-capsule bottle can be found online and at select nutrition stores.
Like the sun rising and setting, we can’t stop getting older. But there is a way to combat damage caused by UV rays, pollution, stress, and yes, even ageing. Regime London Illumination with Setria® Glutathione helps you to support a healthy skin colour, reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
Think of it as building beauty from within.
