Our fitness blogger Anthony Mayatt explains how to get your mind in the fitness zone…
Before you take one look at the title and instantly rule it out, saying that thinking positive does nothing for you, stop! You may either never have tried it or you don’t realise how to make it work for you.
With anything in life, whether a job interview or a health goal you are trying to achieve, the way you think about what you want can help you to get it. Honestly! What it will also do is provide you with an enhanced sense of positivity, and improve your life in many different ways.
Try this:
The next time you are in a yoga class or working out, think about what you want to get out of each movement. Consider how you would like to be in the future. See your body as it is now, or the problems you wish to change, then think about how you would like to be. Simply by focusing your mindset, whatever you are doing will go a long way further towards your eventual goal. This acts as motivation and will make achieving the future you a much easier prospect. You will also build more confidence through it as you start to notice the changes. What’s more, keeping positive thoughts in your mind releases dopamine in the brain, giving you that happy feeling. The result? You want to repeat that healthy behaviour again and again!
It is very easy to let in negative thoughts, but these can take over your body. In fact, thinking positive does exactly the same but in a good way! So, this month, do just one thing: Take control of your mind and body and think positive.
