Love making smoothies but don’t know what ingredients will keep your skin looking good? I’d go for hard working skin-helpers such as omega-3 fats from five walnuts, vitamin C from a third of a peeled lemon and zinc from a tablespoon of chia seeds. Half a cucumber will pack in enzyme-rich water and antioxidants, helping to keep your skin smooth and stave off wrinkles. Combine that with a very large handful of kale for an abundance of vitamins A, C and E for new cell growth.
Cooled green tea (you can make it with two teabags) contains catechins that are antibacterial agents which help fight acne-causing bacteria. Catechins even help regulate hormonal imbalances in the body, one of the key causes of acne. Add an avocado, and enough filtered water to get the texture you want, and you are looking at the ultimate inside-out facial. These quantities will serve two people. Yum!
