Have you recently noticed fine lines or wrinkles on your skin? Has your skin’s pigment started to get you down? Here are four beauty-editor approved anti-ageing tips!
Tug of war
Stop tugging on your skin! Pulling and tugging roughly on your face throughout your years of applying make-up might’ve had an effect on your usually tight skin. If you wear contact lenses, you might even be experiencing increased sagging around the eyes. Applying products to the face can be a bit rough on the skin if you don’t gently massage with a light touch. Don’t pull on your eyes unless absolutely necessary and try not to apply eyeliner by stretching the side of your eye.
We all hate hearing it sometimes, but your diet affects everything, including your skin. Eating foods containing antioxidants like vitamins B and E is wonderful for your skin, because they help to prevent free radicals from breaking down your skin’s collagen and elastin. Having enough protein is also important, as it’s something we have less of as we age. So eat your proteins and antioxidants!
Get some zzz
Getting enough sleep is essential when it comes to getting better skin. That, as well as drinking water, is the foundation of every health and beauty-related solution. Remember when you wake up from a nap with creases all over your face and body? You can avoid that by getting a silk pillowcase – prevention is key. The silky, smooth surface lets your skin glide, rather than it being pulled and tugged whilst sleeping. A silk pillowcase will also protect your hair – win-win!
Give your skin a fresh start with a peel mask
If none of these tips seem to help, a peel mask might be the perfect option for you. A peel mask will use acid to break down the top layers of skin helping to reduce those fine lines and wrinkles – and don’t worry, it’s not as scary as it sounds, it’s a gentle but effective tool.
